Isover Spacesaver (044) is manufactured from glass mineral wool and is used to thermally insulate 'cold roof' constructions in both old and new-build residential properties. Applied between and across joist centres, this material significantly reduces heat loss by trapping rising warm air. It has a thermal conductivity performance of 0.044 W/mK and is classified as non-combustible in accordance with BS EN 13501-1. Spacesaver mineral wool helps to reduce energy consumption once installed and provides good sound absorption properties. The material also meets the requirements of UK thermal building regulations and does not promote fungi or bacteria.
Produced in longer length rolls to help reduce installation times, Isover Spacesaver should be placed in at least two layers to attain the best thermal performance. The first layer should be positioned between the joists, with the subsequent layer cross laid over the top of both the mineral wool and the timber. Available in 100mm, 150mm and 200mm thicknesses options that are pre-perforated to 3x386mm and 2x580mm widths to fit between common joist spacing, Spacesaver glass mineral wool is strong, resilient and highly flexible. It is easy to install and is supplied in weatherproof packaging that is suitable for storing in external environments.
