Electrical Department Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Sales Manager to join our team at our 40-acre Main Sales Yard at Golden Hill Lane, Leyland.

C&W Berry Ltd is the outstanding product source for construction materials in the North West of England, everything from foundations to the roof!

Job Purpose

As Electrical Department Manager, you will play a fundamental role in growing our established electrical business and make C&W Berry Ltd the first point of call for all electrical needs. You and your team will showcase our product range at every opportunity and inspire customers by offering the perfect solution to meet their requirements.

As the Electrical Sales & Buying Manager, you will be commercially driven excelling in business development and account management. You will be an expert at building rapport quickly and creating trusted relationships to ensure that everything we do enables us to deliver on our promises to our customers and exceed expectations. You will also naturally promote and embrace our inclusive team environment.

Duties & Responsibilites

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers both trade and retail customers
  • To support and manage the day-to-day operations of the department ensuring and maintaining a positive working environment
  • Demonstrate capability to manage and deliver to a wide range of customer demands, whilst driving sales and profitability
  • Completing product training courses for yourself and your team and implementing any new policies and procedures
  • Electrical staff members to focus on delivering excellent customer service to each member of the public who enters the department
  • Engage with the department staff daily to communicate what is required and what they have achieved to encourage teamwork
  • Ensuring all health and safety & Fire guidelines are always followed to ensure the department is a safe environment
  • Dealing with suppliers to ensure the customer receives the correct products within the agreed time limits
  • Maintain product stock, ensuring the branch has the correct product offering for the location
  • Multiskilling of staff is encouraged to ensure adequate cover for both sickness and holidays
  • Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company
  • Managing of all break times, lunches, lateness and proactively planning of all overtime
  • Build a network, create an awareness of the offering, and drive the business forward
  • Flexibility with working hours to accommodate for both staff sickness and holidays

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Electrical product knowledge is essential, ideally from an electrical wholesale background
  • A pro-active approach to buying and sales, with a strong desire and ability to grow new business
  • Self-confident and self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative and promote good teamwork
  • Well presented, credible and professional, instilling trust and confidence in all interactions
  • Experience of customer relationship management and developing a true partnership approach
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, leading by example consistently
  • Ability to interpret basic financial and statistical information
  • Proven buying and sales track record

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Mon – Thur:               07:30 – 17:00
Friday:                        07:30 – 16:00
Saturday:                   08:00 – 12:00

Hours shown are the companies trading hours, on occasions the position may call for work outside of these and will be paid.

Salary: Competitive salary package (to be discussed at interview).
