Smoke & heat detectors are a necessity in any building, whether its domestic, commercial or industrial, our range features a large variety of alarms, such as photoelectrical smoke alarms, radio frequency, heat alarms and vibration alarms for the hard of hearing. Ionisation and photoelectric are two types of smoke alarms, and both have their advantages over the other. Ionisation alarms are often more responsive to flaming fires, this is because they have a small amount of radioactive material between electronically charged plates. If smoke were to enter this space, it would interrupt the ionized area and trigger the alarm.

Photoelectric smoke alarms uitilise an LED light ray within the unit that activates a light sensor when it is disrupted by smoke. The sensor will also make a chirping sound when the batteries need replacing, putting the users’ safety at the forefront. There are also fire alarms that utilise both technologies, although both variants have to pass stringent tests to be available on the market.

Vibrator pads are extremely useful for when the user is deaf or hard of hearing and works by being connected to a compatible smoke or heat alarm which when triggered, sends a signal to the vibrator pad that then produces a strong vibration, waking up the user.
