Scutch hammers are commonly used to sculpt or to prepare a surface for rendering and are available in single or double ended variants.

Available from leading brands Spear and Jackson and Draper with a similar shape to a brick hammer paired with a single or double grooved end for accommodating combs or chisel bits with tough ergonomic handle for comfortable extended use.

Generally made from carbon steel for strength and durability and designed to accept replaceable bits to allow the efficient cutting of stone, brickwork or for removing mortar prior to repointing without the inconvenience of a chisel.
